Add and Remove Supervisors
After upgrading to Composer v23.4 and later, the supplied admin user (System Administrator) or a member of the Administrators group can add or remove users in the Supervisors group.
Add any number of users to this group to allow them to perform specific functions without giving them access to all tasks members of the Administrators group can perform in the Visual Data Discovery tenant.
Add a User to a Supervisors Group (Composer v23.4 and Later)
Add a user to the Supervisors group
Log in as the supplied admin user or a member of the Administrators group in Visual Data Discovery.
Select Users and Groups on the UI menu (
). A work area opens you can use to manage users. Select the Users tab.
Select the user from the list of users you want to add to the Supervisors group. The account details for that user appear on the right side of the page.

On the Info tab, select Add Group(s). The Select Account(s) dialog appears.
Note: If the user is already a member of the Supervisors group, this option is not shown. Select (check) the group or groups you want to add this user to. When you add a user to the Supervisors group, they have full access to the Composer supervisor UI and its supervisory functions. See About the Supplied Composer Tenant Accounts.
Select Apply when finished.
Select Save to save the user.
The user is now a member of the Supervisors group.
Remove a User from the Supervisor Group (Composer v23.4 and Later)
You can remove a user from the Supervisors group by removing them from the Supervisors or by simply deleting their user account. See Delete Users .
Remove a user from the Supervisors group
Log in as the supplied admin user or a member of the Administrators group in Visual Data Discovery.
Select Users and Groups on the UI menu (
). A work area opens you can use to manage users. Select the Groups tab if both the Users and Groups tabs are visible.
Select the Supervisors group from the list of groups. The details for that group appear on the right side of the page.
Select the Members tab. This tab lists all members of the Supervisors group.
Remove the user from the group by selecting the remove icon (
) next to the user's name. Confirm your deletion in the confirmation modal.
Select Save when finished. The list of users on the Members tab adjusts to show your changes.
Add a Supervisor (Composer v23.3 and Earlier)
More than one Composer supervisor user can be defined for your Composer instance.
To add a supervisor:

Log in as a supervisor (make sure you have selected the superaccount). The Manage Users page appears, listing all the user definitions in the instance. If you move from this page, you can always access it by selecting Users on the supervisor menu (
).
Note: The default supervisor user is no longer installed; add users to the Supervisors group instead. -
On the left side of the page, select the name of the user definition that you would like to make a supervisor. The user definition appears on the right side of the page.
Alternatively, define a new user to be a supervisor. See Add Users .

Select the Account(s) tab of the user definition. This tab lists all the accounts to which the user is assigned and the number of groups to which the user is assigned in each account.

Select Add Accounts. The Select Account(s) dialog appears.

Select (check) the superaccount.
Users assigned to the superaccount have full access to the Composer supervisor UI and its supervisory functions. See About the Supplied Composer Tenant Accounts.
Select Apply when finished. The list of accounts on the Account(s) tab adjusts to show your selections.
Optionally, in the Current Account field, select the account that should be used the next time the user logs in. See Set the Current Tenant Account for a User.
Select Save to save the user definition.
The user is now a supervisor.
Remove a Supervisor (Composer v23.3 and Earlier)
You can remove a supervisor by removing them from the superaccount or by simply deleting the user definition of the supervisor. See Delete Users to learn about deleting user definitions.
To remove a supervisor from the superaccount:
Log in as a supervisor. The Manage Users page appears, listing all the user definitions in the instance. If you move from this page, you can always access it by selecting Users on the supervisor menu (
).
On the left side of the page, select the name of the user defined as a supervisor. The user definition appears on the right side of the page.

Select the Account(s) tab of the user definition. This tab lists all the accounts to which the user is assigned and the number of groups to which the user is assigned in each account.

Remove the user from the superaccount in one of two ways.
In the list of accounts on the Account(s) dialog, select the
icon associated with the superaccount. When you do, a small Delete button appears. Select this button to remove the user from the superaccount.
Select Add Accounts to view the Select Account(s) dialog. Clear (uncheck) the checkbox associated with the superaccount and select Apply.
The list of accounts on the Account(s) tab adjusts to show your selections.
Select Apply when finished. The list of accounts on the Account(s) tab adjusts to show your selections.
Optionally, in the Current Account field, select the account that should be used the next time the user logs in. See Set the Current Tenant Account for a User.
Select Save to save the user definition.
