Support for Zoomdata 4.9 ended on September 25, 2021, and Composer 5.9 entered the Passive Support phase. Our Passive Support release receives only critical patches and security updates until its end-of-life date. We describe critical patches in the Passive Support Release Notes page at the discretion of Product Management. Security updates are not applicable to the third-party dependencies. If you are using Composer 4.9, you should contact Sales and upgrade to the most current LTS release. We no longer provide documentation for any Composer or Zoomdata products prior to version 5.9. Contact Customer Support if you need content for an unsupported release.

Feature Enhancements

Title	Description
Visuals Updates	Composer now loads, renders, and operates standard visuals and custom visuals without using unsafe evaluations that may not comply with some organizations' CSPs. Load and retrieve visuals using /api/visual-types/components/{componentId}/wrap/.
Edit Custom Charts	You can now create and edit dynamic variable settings for the singlelist variables in the Composer sidebar menu of your custom charts.
Calculation Editor Changes	The calculation editor for visuals and dashboards has been redesigned in Composer to improve the source creation, derived fields, and custom metrics processes.
Loading Times	Composer now returns lists of users more efficiently when called in the user interface or using the API. User Name and User ID information are provided: select an individual user to return that user’s full user information.
Integer Data Type Update	Integer field types are no longer supported in Composer as a stand alone data type. When you import an INTEGER into Composer, it is represented as a NUMBER data type, with two decimal places set by default.
Text Data Type Update	Text field types are no longer supported in Composer as a stand alone data type. When you import TEXT into Composer, it is represented an ATTRIBUTE data type.
Group Privileges UI Updates	The Privileges work area in Composer now displays simplified group privilege options based on what functional area each privilege affects. Dependent privileges are listed and linked with required parent privileges. API Privilege Names remain unchanged.
Consul Support Updates	Composer now supports Consul version 1.11.4. If you update or install Composer in a non-clustered environment using the bootstrap script, Composer is installed or upgraded without further actions needed. For custom or cluster-based deployments, consult the official Consul documentation to upgrade your environment to include Consul 1.11.4.
Distinct Count Metric	You can now select distinct count aggregation for derived ATTRIBUTE and NUMBER fields and in group filters. The distinct count metric is also returned for these fields by API.
Custom Chart Update	The option Enable Menu has been removed from the Manage Custom Charts work area in Composer.
Ubuntu OS Support Updates	Composer no longer supports installation in Ubuntu 16.04 environments. You can now install Composer in Ubuntu 20.04 environments.
Amazon Linux 2 Support	You can now install Composer in an Amazon Linux 2 environment.

API Updates

/api/users/	GET	Call /api/users/ to return the user name and user id for all users. Use application/vnd.composer.v3.lightweight+json Media Type.

Resolved Issues

Time Bar	The time bar and Data Details work area in Composer now display time at the same level of granularity you define for your visual at the source level.

Deprecated Features

Title	Description
/api/visuals/source/<source-id>/summary/	The end point /api/visuals/source/<source-id>/summary/ is deprecated and will be removed in a future release.

Removed Features

Title	Description
/api/preferences/	The endpoint /api/preferences/, deprecated in 6.9, has been removed.
/api/inventory/	The endpoint /api/inventory/ no longer returns a thumbnailDate field.
/api/dashboards/	The endpoint /api/dashboards/ no longer returns a thumbnailDate field.
